New Explore screen & update on Competitions!
We’ve just released an update for both iOS and Android. Here’s what’s new.
A new Explore screen
The app now has a brand new Explore screen. It’s built to make finding great street photography easier and increase discoverability in general. Whether you’re browsing what’s new, discovering photographers you don’t follow yet, or just looking for inspiration.
You’ll notice the bottom navigation looks a little different. We’ve rearranged it to make room for our upcoming Competitions. More on that below.
Competitions
We’re in the final stages of building Competitions, and we wanted to give you a proper look at how it will work.
Each competition runs around a theme. You submit your best photo, and the community votes. Everyone gets 100 points to spend across submissions, and the top 3 photos with the most points win.
Prizes are something we’re still figuring out, and they will vary by competition. Things we have in mind here are: cash prizes, PortraitMode Pro memberships, Boosts, camera gear, vouchers, and more, with every winner also earning a badge on their winning photo.
The first competition drops soon.
We’ll share the details as soon as everything is ready.
Wrapping up
Alongside all this, this update also brings a handful of smaller improvements and fixes across the app.
A new Explore screen, a reshuffled navigation bar to make room for Competitions, and a closer look at how Competitions will work. Update your app if you haven’t already, and let us know what you think in the comments.
Happy shooting 📸

All sounds great and it’s nice to see the influx of submissions has increased over the past few weeks. Hopefully the competition side might raise the standards of photos submitted also. As it gives people something to aim for rather than just “like” chasing.
Nice job and good evolution, Hope a great success to your project and will share with you more photos and personal photographic experience.
Does that work in the web version, too? I don’t like using the mobile app on my smartphone.
Are you referring to Competitions? Yes, they will work on the website as well 🙂
Yes, I meant competitions. Thank you very much for your quick reply.
