Ivana (Brkić) Damnjanović, born May 13, 1989. in Valjevo, he has been a professional soldier for five years. He is an economist by profession. As is usually the case in our country, highly educated people generally do jobs for which they are overqualified. So did Ivana, she worked as a cashier in a local supermarket and then the daily press changed her life path. Like most people, she has a habit of flipping through the newspaper in the morning. On that day, a competition for military service was published in the press. We have witnessed that in the last few years, many women serve in the army and later remain in it as professional soldiers. This is mainly because it is a much more secure job than in the private sector. Ivana is first of all a mother, wife, friend, and then a professional soldier (woman warrior), a real fighter. The position of women in the army is not very bright. Women are not spared, there is no division into men's and women's jobs. Everyone is equal and that's how it should be. The system in the army is not yet adapted to women, so in some cases they are discriminated against. The best evidence is the fact that those in uniform are not considered women, but soldiers. Field work is quite harsh. Heat, winter, wind, rain, snow, frost are only disturbing dimensions in the test of endurance and perseverance. Perhaps the most difficult part of field work is the separation from family, which can last for a month, and with friends even longer. And therein lies the biggest problem. The military system does not care if you are a mother and a wife. You are on a mission and the mission must be completed.
