During my photographic journey to Gopinatham I didn’t expect to find myself standing at Veerappan’s grave.A few elderly villagers sat nearby. One of them walked up, placed vibhuti on our foreheads, and quietly said he had met Veerappan. “He was a good man” he added without hesitation. In that moment I realized that for them he wasn’t just a bandit. He was a person they remembered differently. It wasn’t a place to argue or question. Just to observe, absorb and respect.I took a photo thanked him and left the place quietly. Some stories aren’t told through words.

The Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur, built over 1,000 years ago by Raja Raja Chola I in 1010 CE, stands as a timeless stone marvel of South India. Carved entirely from granite, its towering vimana (about 66 meters high) remains one of the tallest of its kind in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the temple is not only a feat of Chola engineering but also a living symbol of devotion, art, and architectural brilliance that has endured for a millennium.

Photography lets me witness and capture the ordinary people who make up daily life.

I took this photograph of an auto only after noticing what was written on it. At first, it seemed like just another vehicle, nothing unusual. But then I saw the message: “Ride is free for cancer and dialysis patients.”I was rushing to catch my train, yet that simple line made the auto stand out as a quiet reminder of compassion on the road.

Life pauses for a moment. Happy World Photography Day to all storytellers behind the lens.

Vision!

When three photographers fall quiet, you know the scene is speaking louder than the shutter.
