Fisherman in Laos river.Once the net is set, the fisher then slaps the water with his (or her) oar to drive fish into the net. They stand on the edge of the boat paddling with one leg (yes, using their leg!) so that their hands are free to pull up the net. It was interesting to see them successfully fishing with this usual method. Some of them were using a stick to yank up piles of reeds, it looked exhausting and their boats were on the verge of sinking due to the weight of the wet reeds. Every so often they’d stop and spend awhile emptying buckets of water out of their boat.| #fishing | #laos | #sonya7iv | #traveltheworld | #fisherman | #river |

Proud vendor.Old lady in Vietnam walking proudly while working on the streets. They work to survive, not to save. While traveling I realized some facts about them:They have a poor background.Probably no education.Have no permanent place.Probably a family to feed. All they have is their valuable goods.Think twice before trying to bargain them.| #streetphotography | #portrait | #oldlady | #vietnam | #portraitphotography
Captain Danh.
He used to be a sailor, traveled the world for 54 years and now he runs his own company in the ancient city of Hoi An in Vietnam.
He has 6 little boats and his sons do boat trips for tourists.
He was so humble and welcoming.
Pure intentions even though I was a tourist.
After I let him know that I've booked a boat tour with another company he offered me some tea and we had a wonderful talk.
Everyday people that remind you what kindness looks like
