Snapshots & Private Messages

We’ve got two big new features rolling out, and we think you’re going to like them.

Snapshots (Public Beta)

Think of Snapshots as the casual side of PortraitMode. Similar to Instagram Stories, but built for photographers. Share where you’re at, what you’re shooting, or a quick behind-the-scenes moment without the pressure of posting a polished, final shot. It’s less “portfolio piece” and more “here’s what I’m up to right now”.

Since it’s in public beta, everything here might be subject to change. So if you run into bugs, or simply want to share your thoughts on this feature, please drop a comment below.

Private Messages

You can now message other photographers directly on PortraitMode. Whether it’s connecting with someone whose work you admire, coordinating a shoot, or just saying “Hi”. DMs are live and ready for you to use.

Both features are available now in the app. Go check them out and let us know what you think.

Competitions

Alongside these updates, we also just launched our first Competition. Submit your best black and white photograph and let the community vote. Prizes include cash, PortraitMode Pro memberships, and Boosts, with the top three photos also earning a permanent achievement badge. Head to the app or website to check it out and compete.
